LA CROSSE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team fell by a 44-3 final at UW-La Crosse in conference dual action on Friday night.
 
Brandon Peckham (Plainfield, Wis./Tri-County) won a 4-2 decision at 165 to keep UWSP from being shut out. He held a 1-0 lead early and eventually went to sudden victory tied at 1-1. He avoided a late takedown in the first extra period and then prevailed 4-2 for the three points.
 
Blaze Thurber (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa) battled to a 9-4 decision loss at 133.
 
The Pointers will send athletes to the Don Parker Open on Saturday (Feb. 4). Action begins at 10:00 a.m. in Eau Claire.
