WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams both placed sixth in the large eight-team Midwest Invitational on Saturday.
Results
Mason Mead (Wausau, Wis./West) had the best finish for the men taking second in the 200-meter dash. His time of 22.74 was just 0.15 seconds off the winning time.
UWSP's 4x400-meter relay team of
Tyler Santi (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper),
Aiden Leist (Hortonville, WIs./Hortonville),
Brad Brewer (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) and
Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) placed third with a time of 3:24.11.
Cade Ravenscroft (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) cleared 1.95 meters (6' 4.75") in the high jump, good for fourth place.
Ian Lillquist (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 6.36 meters (20' 10.50").
Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) had the best placement among the thrower getting fifth in the shot put with a distance of 14.81 meters (48' 7.25").
For the women,
Gabri Gaines (Madison, Wis./Memorial) came in second in the 300-meter run with a time of 10:53.31.
Guadalupe Corn (Keshena, Wis./Menominee Indian) placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 12.99 meters (42' 7.50").
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay, Wis./Big Foot),
Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union),
Anetha Vogele (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) and
Mackenzie Johnson (Cumberland, Wis./Cumberland) took fifth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:02.09.
The Pointers travel to Oshkosh for the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge on Saturday (Feb. 18) for the final tune-up before the WIAC Championships.
