The Blugolds got on the board first with a goal at 12:51 of the second period. UWSP fired 12 more shots on goal, to no avail, and had a 22-16 shot advantage through two periods.

At 2:27 of the third period, Brett Humberstone (Kingston, Ont.) scored to pull UWSP even at 1-1. Nico Chmelevski (Northville, Mich.) got an assist on the goal picking up his first collegiate point in his Pointers' debut.
