STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The No. 8 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (7-2-0, 4-0-0) scored three times in the third period to take a 4-2 win over UW-River Falls (4-4-0, 1-3-0) on Friday.

The Falcons took the lead at the 2:05 mark of the second period after the teams skated to a scoreless first period.

Less than two minutes later, Conor Witherspoon (Metamora, Mich.) pulled the Pointers even at 1-1. His third of the season was assisted on by Fletcher Anderson (Thunder Bay, Ont./Sir William Churchill) and Sam Ayd (Grant, Minn.).

The Falcons regained the lead at 15:36 of the second period and UWSP trailed by a 2-1 score heading to the third.

Andrew Poulias (Whitby, Ont.) tied the game at 2-2 at 5:57 of the third period with a power-play tally. Sean Bunting (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Mick Heneghan (Niles, Ill.) added helpers on the tying goal.

Cody Moline (North Branch, Minn.) gave the Pointers the lead at 9:12 of third, the eventual game-winner. Tyler German (Canton, Mich.) notched his first assist of the night.

Then as time was expiring, German chipped the puck ahead and fed Bunting for the empty-netter.
