DULUTH, Minn. – The No. 5 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (1-2-0) scored late in a 2-1 loss at St. Scholastica (3-0-0) on Saturday night.
The host Saints put the opening goal in the net at 16:09 of the first period. CSS held the 1-0 lead until midway through the third period when a power-play tally doubled the lead.
Fletcher Anderson (Thunder Bay, Ont./Sir William Churchill) pulled UWSP within one with a power-play goal at the 16:17 mark of the third period. His first goal of the season was assisted on by
Nicholas Aromatario (Woodbridge, Ont.).
Despite an extra attacker for the final 1:11, the Pointers were not able to find an equalizer.
Alex Proctor (Allen, Texas) made 35 saves in net for the Pointers. CSS goaltender Jack Bostedt had 23 saves in the win.
The Pointers return home to face Saint Mary's on Friday (Nov. 10) to kick off a three-game home stand. Puck drop at K.B. Willett Arena is set for 7:00 p.m.
