Stanius, Aadalen Net Fastest Back-To-Back Goals in Program History

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Katie Stanius (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) and Sara Aadalen (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) scored the fastest back-to-back goals in program history as the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (3-6-0) fell to visiting Saint Mary's (7-2-0) by a 5-2 final.
 
UWSP goaltender Anne Beck (Grandville, Mich./Grandville) made 12 first-period saves to keep the Pointers in the game after one period. UWSP was outshot, 13-1, in the first period as SMU netted the lone goal at 2:53.
 
The Cardinals made it 2-0 at 1:02 of the second period. SMU scored again at 15:42 of the second as UWSP faced a 3-0 deficit heading to the third.
 
SMU got goals at 4:51 and 7:29 in the third period to make it 5-0.
 
Stanius got UWSP on the board at 15:25 of the third period. It was her second goal of the year with Lauren Wincentsen (Wausau, Wis./West) and Soile Doyle (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) adding assists.
 
Off the faceoff, Aadalen charged the net and took a feed from Annika Horman (Appleton, Wis./North) to score just seven seconds later.
 
Beck totaled 29 saves for the Pointers. SMU's tandem of Celeste Rimstad and Riley Vander Esch combined for 13 saves.
 
The Pointers travel to Northland on Saturday, Dec. 2 for a 2:00 p.m. conference tilt.
