REEDSBURG, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team remained in fifth place at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships (presented by Culver's). UWSP combined for a team score of 352 after round two action in Reedsburg just two strokes over the day one score.

Top UWSP Individual: Kate Downie (Hortonville, WIs./Hortonville) capped off a great day on the course as she shaved two strokes off her day one total to post an 83 (+11). She also managed to move up four spots, wrapping up day two in 12th place.
Notables: Rae Barwick (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) finished an improved mark on day two as she shot an 87 (+15) to rocket up to tied for 31st as the Pointers second-best finisher.
Bree Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) also had a bounce back day as she shaved one stroke off her day one total to shoot an 89 (+17) and wrap up day two tied for 39th.
Jenny Marshall (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) posted a 93 (+21) on the course today to find herself tied for 47th. Rounding out the Pointers golfers and also tied for 47th is
Andrea Tietz (Watertown, Wis./Watertown).
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: UW-Whitewater posted an improved day two as they managed to jump UW-Stout and claim first place as action on the course came to a close in round two. UWW has three of golfers in the top-10.
Top Individual: Abbey Filipiak of UW-Stout claimed sole ownership of first place after shooting a 77 (+5) in round two. She holds a three-stroke lead over UW-Whitewater's Kallie Lux, who shot on par with a 72 (E) to remain in striking distance.
Up next: Sunday (Oct. 8) is the third and final round of the WIAC Championships. Tee time is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.
