STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (6-9-1, 3-3-0) conceded its first goals at the UWSP Turf Facility and fell to visiting UW-Platteville (9-2-3, 4-1-1) by a 4-2 final on Saturday.
Madison Culli (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) gave the Pointers a lead in the 17th minute. Her goal was assisted on by
Gabby Dunn (Dallas, Texas/Bishop Lynch) for the 1-0 lead.
The Pioneers tied the game in the 30th minute and took a 2-1 lead in the 36th minute. In the 59th minute, UWP upped the lead to 3-1.
Jessica Camarato (DeForest, Wis./DeForest Area) scored her second goal in the last three matches in the 74th minute. Her goal was assisted on by
Mara Gustafson (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) to pull the Pointers within 3-2.
The Pioneer tacked on an insurance goal in the 80th minute to complete the scoring.
UWSP goalkeeper
Jessica Nigbur (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee) made nine saves in the match. Dunn had three of UWSP's seven shots on target.
The Pointers travel to St. Norbert on Sunday (Oct. 22) for the final non-conference match of the season. Kick in De Pere is slated for 1:00 p.m.
