LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's golf team capped off day one at the UW-Stout Invitational residing in fifth place. UWSP accumulated a score of 302 after round one and sit four strokes out of fourth place.

Top UWSP Individual: Ethan Roehm (Ironwood, Mich./Luther L. Wright) led the Pointers on the course Sunday with a 74 (+3) and sits tied for 11th. Roehm is tied with 11 other golfers and sits three strokes out of the top three.
Notables: Ethan Mehlberg (Junction City, Wis./Wisconsin Valley Lutheran) finished one stroke behind Roehm with a 75 (+4) on the day, tied for 23rd place.
Connor Schaefer (Greenville, Wis./Hortonville) posted one of his best rounds of the fall season as he shot a 76 (+5) to place tied for 30th after round one.
Joe Warpechowski (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) shot a 77 (+6) to finish tied for 37th with
Josh Brogren (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn Area) directly behind him with a 78 (+7) on the day to reside tied for 43rd.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: Conference foe UW-Eau Claire is in first place after day one having shot a collective 283 on the day. The Blugolds hold a 15-stroke lead over their second-unit teammates who shot a combined 298 on the day.
Top Individual: Nick Mueller of UW-Eau Claire holds first place after shooting a 69 (-2) on the day. Mueller holds a one stroke lead over teammate Owen Covey who shot a 70 (-1) this afternoon.
