STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team finished in seventh place as a team after wrapping up the weekend at the Mad Dawg Invitational. They accumulated a score of 369 in 18 holes of golf.

Kate Downie (Hortonville, WIs./Hortonville) posted a strong day two as she shot an 86 to move up the ranks of the Pointers golfers. Downie finished tied for 16th.
Notables:
Jenny Marshall (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) also registered a serviceable performance as she shot an 88 on day two to elevate her placement as she finished tied for 21
st. Although she maintained a spot in the top-25,
Andrea Tietz (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) shot a 93 and finished tied for 24
th.
Rae Barwick (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) added strokes to her weekend total as she shot a 104 on day two to finish the invite in 40
th place. Rounding out the Pointers golfers was
Bree Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) who shot a 102 on the day to finish 41
st.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: UW-Whitewater managed to pull out a first-place finish as a team on Sunday as they jumped Illinois Wesleyan. They would combine for a round two score of 312 to Illinois Wesleyan's 322 to take the narrow invitational victory.
Top Individual: Ellie Johnson and Kallie Lux of UW-Whitewater both finished tied for first place after round two. Johnson shot a 77 on the day as Lux shot a 74 in round two as they each finished with a total score of 117 on the weekend.
Up next: The Pointers will travel to Reedsburg, Wis. to compete at the WIAC Championships beginning on Friday (Oct. 6). Tee time is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
