WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's track and field team finished fifth at the Whitewater Invite on Saturday.
 
Results
 
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay, Wis./Big Foot) won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.52, nearly a three second margin over the runner-up.
 
UWSP's relay team of Mackenzie Johnson (Cumberland, Wis./Cumberland), Shelby Klobucar (La Crosse, Wis./Logan), Kylee Sauers (Rockford, Minn./Rockford) and Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) took second in the 4x400. Their time was 4:08.27.
 
Johnson took third place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.87, a mere 0.41 seconds back of the event winner.
 
Madeline Zirbel (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) earned a third-place finish in the high jump. She cleared the bar at 1.61 meters (5' 3.50").
 
Makenzie Lueck (Walworth, Wis./Big Fort) also finished third in the shot put. She reached a distance of 12.31 meters (40' 4.75")
 
The Pointers will host the Big Dawg Invite on Saturday (Feb. 4). Action in the Skyward Fieldhouse is set to start at 10:30 a.m.
