STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (7-7-1, 2-2-0) battled No. 2 UW-River Falls (13-2-0, 4-0-0) to a 4-2 final at K.B. Willett Arena on Friday night.
The Falcons got on the board at the 4:00 mark with a power-play tally. Just before the midpoint of the first, UWRF doubled its lead.
Sara Aadalen (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) pulled UWSP with a goal as she scored with just 1.7 seconds left in the first.
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) provided the helper on the goal.
The Falcons scored the only goal of the second period to take a two-goal lead to the third.
UWRF extended the lead to 4-1 with a tally at 8:18 of the third. Just nine seconds later,
Josie Bender (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) got UWSP back within two with an unassisted goal, her second of the season.
