LA CROSSE, Wis.- The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team tied for fifth place at the UW-La Crosse Invite on Saturday. The team finished with 355 shots, only seven shots behind the fourth-place finishing team.

Location: Golf Club at Cedar Creek, La Crosse, Wis.  
UWSP: 5th of 11 Teams 
Top UWSP Individual: Bree Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) and Jenny Marshall (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) tied for 16th place with 87 (+16) shots.  
Notables: Andrea Tietz (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) tied for 27th place with 89 (+18) shots. Kate Downie and Ashlee Hattori tied for 34th place with 92 (+21) shots. Hattori competed as an individual. 
 
Tournament Highlights 
Top Team: UW-La Crosse won the invitational with 326 (+42) total shots on the day.  
Top Individual: Andrea Schleeper of UW-La Crosse earned the top spot with 75 shots on the day, only four shots over par.  
 
Up next: The Pointers will compete in the Viterbo Invitational tomorrow (Sept. 25). Tee time is at 11:00 a.m.
