GENEVA, Ohio – UW-Stevens Point senior
Blake Orr (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) broke the school record in the discus throw to highlight day one of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday.
Results
Orr finished fourth in the discus to earn All-American honors after recording a PR and breaking the school record with a distance of 53.02 meters (173' 11"). He broke a school record that stood since 2003.
Freshman
Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) posted an 11th-place finish in the 10,000-meter run. Her time of 36:55.04 was the second-best time among freshmen in the race.
Fellow freshman
Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) took 14th in the 400-meter hurdles. She clocked in at 1:03.06.
Brilyn Brecka (Alma, Wis./Alma) competed in the discus throw as well, but fouled on all three attempts.
Day two of the NCAA Championships begins at 9:00 a.m. on Friday (May 27).
