LA CROSSE, Wis – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams sent a group of athletes to Friday's Eagle Open in La Crosse. No team scores were kept.
 
Results: Men | Women
 
Leyna Herzog (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) won the 200-meter dash to lead the women. Her time was 25.34, winning the event by nearly a half second.
 
Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) took second in the 400-meter hurdles. She crossed the finish line at 1:02.29, cutting nearly two seconds off her PR.
 
Brilyn Brecka (Alma, Wis./Alma) took fifth in the shot put, discus and hammer throw. Her distances in the discus and hammer throws were a personal best in both events.
 
For the men, Caleb Carter (Lisle, Ill./Lisle) placed second in the triple jump. He reached a distance of 13.92 meters (45' 8") for a personal best.
 
Cade Ravenscroft (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) finished third in the high jump. He cleared 1.96 meters (6' 5").
 
Blake Orr (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) also had a third-place finish in the hammer throw. His distance was 55.81 meters (183' 1").
 
The Pointers will compete is a number of meets next week in a final attempt to reach NCAA Championship qualifying marks.
