Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) broke her own school record to headline the three members of the UW-Stevens Point track and field team who competed at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on day one on Friday.

Krouse continued to impress in her freshman campaign with yet another standout performance in the 5000-meter run. She broke her own school record that she set earlier this season with a time of 17:13.23 to take 10th. Her time was almost three second faster than her previous school record.
Nick Chesterman (Sun Prairie, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) is in seventh place in the heptathlon after four events on Friday. He has 2640 points, 611 behind the leader. His best finish came I the long jump where he took third with a distance of 6.58 meters (21' 7.25"). In the shotput, he placed eighth, but his distance of 11.82 meters (38' 9.5"0") was a personal best.
Jared Schrang (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) competed in the 60-meter hurdles. He posted a time of 8.32 seconds to place 13th.
Chesterman will continue action in the heptathlon on Saturday (March 12) beginning at 10:00 a.m. ET.
