RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (5-1-3, 3-0-0) brushed aside an early goal by UW-River Falls (3-6-0, 0-3-0) and scored in each period in a 3-1 road win on Friday.
The Falcons got on the board first with a goal just 44 seconds into the first period.
Later in the first,
Andrew Poulias (Whitby, Ont./) pulled the Pointers even with his third goal of the year at the 10:08 mark.
Conor Witherspoon (Metamora, Mich./) and
Jordan Fader (Rice Lake, Wis./) assisted on the goal.
UWSP's power play struck in the second period as
Dawson Sciarrino (Greensburg, Pa./) netted his first of the year, the eventual game-winner.
David Hill (Glen Mills, Pa./) and
Nicholas Aromatario (Woodbridge, Ont./) added assists at 4:53 of the second.
Evan Junker (Elk River, Minn./) pushed the lead to two goals with his first career tally in the third period.
Brett Humberstone (Kingston, Ont./) had a helper on the goal at 8:18.
Ryan Wagner (Indianapolis, Ind./) picked up his second-straight win in league play with 21 saves. UWRF goaltender Dysen Skinner made 38 saves.
The Pointers are home tomorrow night (Dec. 3) for a 7:00 p.m. conference matchup against UW-Superior.
