ST. PAUL, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (6-5-1) suffered a 5-1 setback at St. Catherine (8-3-1) on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats opened the scoring at the 10:49 mark of the first period. The SCU lead doubled to 2-0 in the final minute of the second period.
The hosts scored three more times, including an empty-net goal, in the third period.
Sara Aadalen (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) got UWSP on the board at 18:40 of the third period as the Pointers avoided a shutout. Her goal was the second of the year with
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) and
McKenna Piekarski (Anchorage, Alaska/West) adding assists.

Olivia Schultz (Maplewood, Minn./Tartan) made 30 saves. SCU goaltender Elizabeth Kubicek had 19 saves.
The Pointers return to action on January 6 at Hamline. Puck drop at TRIA Rink is set for 5:00 p.m.
