Andrle, Torma Net First Career Goals as Pointers Tie SNC

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Freshmen Maddie Andrle and Grace Torma each scored first career goals as the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (2-1-1) skated to a 3-3 tie with visiting St. Norbert (2-1-2) on Tuesday.
 
Andrle put the Pointers up 1-0 with 30.2 seconds remaining in the first period. Her goal was a power-play tally with an assist from Lauren Wincentsen (Wausau, Wis./West).
 
The Green Knights tied the game with less than four seconds left in the period to send the game to intermission, tied at 1-1.
 
UWSP regained the lead 37 seconds into the second period on Courtney Leising's (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) third goal of the year. Laina Berthiaume (South Haven, Minn./Hutchinson) provided a helper on the goal.
 
Exactly eight minutes later, Torma netted the first of her career to put UWSP in front, 3-1. Gina Magro (Tower Lakes, Ill./Barrington) and Ashtyn Wiltscheck (Sleepy Eye, Minn./New Ulm) had assists on the play.
 
SNC pulled even with goals at 14:37 and 18:13 of the second period. Neither team scored in the third period or overtime.
 
Olivia Schultz (Maplewood, Minn./Tartan) made 41 saves in net for the Pointers. SNC goaltenders Ashley Ommen and Brynn Waisman combined for 21 saves.
 
The Pointers hit the road for the conference opener on Friday (Nov. 11) with a 7:05 p.m. puck drop at UW-River Falls.
