RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (2-2-1, 0-1-0) dropped the league opener at No. 6 UW-River Falls (2-1-0, 1-0-0) by a 4-0 final on Friday.
The Falcons took the lead at 8:30 of the first period. UWSP goaltender
Olivia Schultz (Maplewood, Minn./Tartan) held the deficit at one until the third period.
UWRF doubled its lead at 7:00 of the third and added two more goals in just over eight minutes to complete the scoring.
Schultz had 34 saves for UWSP. UWRF goaltender Sami Miller made 11 saves.
Natalie Ahern (Byron, Minn./Byron) led UWSP with four shots on goal.
UWSP returns home for a non-conference matchup with Lawrence on Wednesday (Nov. 16). Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. at K.B. Willett Arena.
