Marshall’s Career-Best Round Puts UWSP in Third After Day One of WIAC Championship

REEDSBURG, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team sits in third place after the first day of the WIAC Championship. The team shot 342 (+54) and hold a three-stroke advantage over fourth-place UW-Platteville. 

Results 

The Basics  Tournament: WIAC Championship  Location: Reedsburg County Club, Reedsburg, Wis.  UWSP: 3rd of 8 Top UWSP Individual:  Jenny Marshall (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) leads the Pointers tied for 11th place with 83 shots, just six strokes back of the leaders. Her 83 is the lowest round of her career. Notables: Bree Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) is tied for 17th place with 85 shots. One shot behind is Kate Downie (Hortonville, WIs./Hortonville), who is tied for 19th

Tournament Highlights  Top Team: Leading the tournament is UW-La Crosse with 324 (+36) shots. They have three golfers in the top 10.  Top Individual:  Ashton Sinak of UW-Whitewater and Molly Larsen of UW-La Crosse lead with 77 shots, only five shots over par. 

Up next: UWSP will compete in day two of the WIAC Championship tomorrow (Oct. 8). Tee time has been moved back to 10:00 a.m.
