STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (3-6-3, 0-1-1) fought back from a one-goal deficit twice to earn a 2-2 draw with visiting UW-Oshkosh (3-5-3, 0-1-1) in league action on Wednesday.
 
The Pointers fell behind in the ninth minute as UWO's Grace Herrmann scored her first of two in the match.
 
In the 15th minute, UWSP pulled level. Shea-Lynn Gerred (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) served a fabulous diagonal ball from her left back position to Kait Frierdich. She one-touched the ball into the net for her fifth goal of the season.
 
Ninety-eight seconds into the second half, the visiting Titan regained the lead on Herrmann's second of the match.
 
Cass Klitzke (Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area) battled a defender and won the ball back in the box in the 71st minute. She tapped it to Frierdich, who dropped the ball off to Gina Wasniewski (Ironton, Minn./Brainerd). Wasniewski ripped the ball into the top corner for a match-tying goal.
 
Neither team was able to find a match-winner late. UWSP goalkeeper Miranda Nieman (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) made seven saves.
 
The Pointers remain at home with another conference match on Saturday (Oct. 8) against UW-Whitewater. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
