PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Freshman
Cass Klitzke (Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area) notched her first career game-winner as the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (5-8-4, 2-2-2) picked up three massive points in a 1-0 win at UW-Platteville (11-4-1, 3-2-0).
Klitzke broke a scoreless draw in the 73rd minute with the eventual game-winner, her third goal this season. Her strike came off a pass from
Kati Frierdich (Neenah, Wis./Winneconne).
UWSP goalkeeper
Miranda Nieman (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) made four saves to record her third clean sheet of the season.
Klitzke had two of UWSP's four shots on goal.
Gabby Dunn (Dallas, Texas/Bishop Lynch) and
Shea-Lynn Gerred (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) each had one.
The Pointers wrap up the regular season on Saturday (Oct. 29) with a 2:00 p.m. match at UW-Stout.
