STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens point women's tennis team capped off the regular season with a 9-0 victory over visiting UW-River Falls on Sunday.
Grace Henes (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) earned victories in doubles and singles. She won at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1. In doubles action, she paired with
Jordan Scharf (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) for an 8-6 win at No. 3.
Chloe Leithold (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) also won twice on the day with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles. With duo partner
Jenna Koepp (Watertown, Wis./Watertown), they won at No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
Tristan Jantz and
Quinlyn Mack (Prairie Du Sac, Wis./Sauk Prairie) won at No. 1 doubles, 8-4. Mack won at No. 1 singles with a 7-6 (3), 6-1 score. Jantz picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles.
Faith Leithold (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) and
Maya Kunze (Stevens Point, Wis./Pacelli) won at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively, to complete the sweep.
The Pointers travel to Madison next weekend for the WIAC Championships. Day one action begins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 22).
