RIVER FALLS, Wis. – Senior
Shea-Lynn Gerred (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) scored her fourth goal of the year to pull the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (4-6-4, 1-1-2) even in an eventual 1-1 draw at UW-River Falls (9-3-4, 0-3-1) in league play on Saturday.
The host Falcons took the lead in the 21st minute on one of just two first-half shots on goal. Gerred,
Gabby Dunn (Dallas, Texas/Bishop Lynch) and
Gina Wasniewski (Ironton, Minn./Brainerd) tested the UWRF goalkeeper in the first half to no avail.
Gerred pulled the Pointers level just one minute and 52 seconds into the second half.
Jessica Camarato (DeForest, Wis./DeForest Area) had an assist on the goal, her first point of the season.
The Pointers earned six corner kicks to UWRF's one. UWSP goalkeeper
Miranda Nieman (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) made five saves, as did UWRF's Kaylie Krueger.
UWSP will be home for the final two times beginning on Sunday (Oct. 16) with a 2:00 p.m. first kick against Saint Mary's.
