WHITEWATER, Wis. - The UW-Stevens Point track and field team competed in their first multi of the season at UW-Whitewater beginning on Friday.  UWSP's men also competed in the Leonard "Squig" Converse Invite taking sixth out of 10 team.
 
Results
 
On the men's side, Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) nabbed a first-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.98.
 
Nick Chesterman (Sun Prairie, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) leads after the first day in the heptathlon with a score of 2759. He placed second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.36, as well as first in long jump with a distance of 6.76 meters.
 
Blake Orr (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) finished with a second-place finish in shot put. He threw for a distance of 15.06 meters.
 
On the women's side, Jordan Shamion (Iron River, Mich./West Iron County) secured a fifth-place finish in the pentathlon with a score of 2537. She took a second-place finish in shot put with the distance of 11.35 meters.
 
The action will continue tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. for the UW-Stevens Point women's team, as they compete in the Women's Whitewater Invite.
