STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team (9-6, 2-4) came up short in league play as UW-La Crosse (11-7, 3-4) took a 67-49 final at Berg Gym on Saturday.

Taylor Greenheck (Prairie Du Sac, Wis./Sauk Prairie) led the Pointers in scoring with 10 points.  Fellow senior Jessica Slowik (Elcho, Wis./Elcho) just missed double figures with nine.  Anna Schoenike (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) pulled down a team-best five rebounds.

Greenheck buried a three and Gabby Gawlitta (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) hit a pair of free throws as UWSP went ahead 5-2 early.  Schoenike completed an and-one for an 8-6 edge, but UWSP trailed 14-13 at the end of the first.

Slowik hit three of UWSP's four made field goals in the second quarter.  Greenheck drilled another three-pointer for the other and the Pointers were down 37-25 at the half.

Jamie Pfeifer (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) and Schoenike each made a bucket in the third quarter, but UWL extended the lead to 52-36 heading to the fourth.

Greenheck scored in the opening minute of the fourth, but the Eagles put up an 11-2 run before Schoenike made a layup halfway through.  Kelly McIntyre (Waukesha, Wis. /North) and Katelyn Slowik (Elcho, Wis./Elcho) scored six combined down the stretch.
