RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The No. 13 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (12-5-1, 7-2-0) is back in sole possession of first place in the WIAC after a 4-1 win at UW-River Falls (10-8-1, 6-3-0).
Fletcher Anderson (Thunder Bay, Ont.) opened the second with his second goal of the weekend. His goal at 18:32 was assisted by
Nicholas Aromatario (Woodbridge, Ont.).
Anderson scored again at the 6:47 mark of the second period.
Carter Roo (Champlin, Minn.) had an assist on the eventual game-winner.
The Falcons cut the Pointers' lead in half with a shorthanded goal at 14:41 of the second.
At 12:04 of the third period,
Brady Smith (Bloomington, Ill.) put the Pointers back in front by two. Roo recorded his second helper of the game.
Wilson Northey (North Vancouver, B.C.) capped the scoring with a goal at 18:29 of the third with Aromatario getting his second assist of the night.
Ryan Wagner (Indianapolis, Ind.) made 19 saves for his 10th win of the year. UWRF goaltender Dysen Skinner had 22 saves.
UWSP returns to K.B. Willett for a four-game homestand beginning on Friday (Jan. 28) against UW-Superior. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
