WHEATON, Ill. – Second-year player
Chiaki Vogt (Appleton, Wis./East) scored her first career goal, but the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (1-3-0) dropped a 3-1 decision on the road at Wheaton (1-0-1) on Tuesday.
Vogt stole the ball from the defender and slid the shot past the Thunder goalkeeper in the 80th minute for the Pointers' lone goal. Her tally was unassisted.
The Pointers fell behind in the 13th minute of play. Wheaton's Grace Hermanson notched her second of the match in the 42nd minute, the eventual game-winner.
The Thunder added a third goal in the 50th minute to put the match out of reach. Wheaton out-shot UWSP, 22-8.
Brookelyn Heiss (Marietta, Ohio/Marietta) made her first career start. She played all 90 minutes with six saves.
The Pointers return home for a pair of weekend matches beginning on Saturday (Sept. 11) at 1:00 p.m. versus Coe.
