ABILENE, Texas – For the second-straight night, the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (2-6-0) was held scoreless in Texas, suffering a 6-0 loss at the hands of host Hardin-Simmons (3-2-0).
HSU's Caroline Pool had a first-half hat trick with goals in the 23rd, 24th and 34th minutes. The Cowgirls tacked on second half goals in the 73rd, 77th and 87th minutes to complete the scoring.
UWSP was held to just three shots in the match.
Hannah Kroupa (New Berlin, Wis./West) had two and
Bridget Kauzlaric (Coal City, Ill./Coal City) the other with each putting one on frame.
Miranda Nieman (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) surrendered all six goals while making seven saves. HSU goalkeeper Haley Foley made both stops while sharing time with Kendall Dowling for the clean sheet.
The Pointers return to Wisconsin, but continue the road swing on Wednesday (Sept. 22) with a 7:00 p.m. match at Carroll.
