JANESVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team placed fifth at the UWW Spring Fling, the team's final competition before next week's WIAC Championship.

Tournament: UWW Spring Fling
Location: Riverside GC – Janesville, Wis.
UWSP: 5th of 10 teams
Top UWSP Individual:  Bree Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) shot a round of 79 to tie for sixth place, her third-consecutive top-10 finish.
Notables: Brooke Tuszka (Plover, Wis./SPASH) and Grace Eide (Osseo, Wis./Osseo-Fairchild) carded an 85 and 87 to place 20th and 24th, respectively.
 
Tournament Highlights
Top Team:  Host UW-Whitewater won the event with a round of 308, 11 strokes better than UW-La Crosse.
Top Individual: UWW's Ashton Sinak and UWL's Molly Larsen shared the individual title with a round score of 74.
 
Up next: The Pointers will close out the 2020-21 season with the WIAC Championship (presented by Culver's) next weekend.  The first round at the Reedsburg Country Club is set for Friday (April 30) at 12:00 p.m.
