MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team took third at the 11 team Carroll Classic on Sunday.
Bree Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) tied for sixth out of 58 golfers in the field.

UWSP: 3rd of 11 teams
Top UWSP Individual: Downie shot an 82 to tie for sixth. Her round was just five strokes off the event winner.
Notables: Grace Eide (Osseo, Wis./Osseo-Fairchild) took ninth with a round of 85.
Grace Nemecek (Greenleaf, Wis./Wrightstown) carded an 87 to tie for 12th with
Jenny Marshall (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) earning 17th place with a 90.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: UW-Whitewater won the event with a team score of 319. Lake Forest took second, just two strokes ahead of the Pointers at 344.
Top Individual: UWW's Ashton Sinak shot a 77 to win the event by two strokes.
Up next: The Pointers will return to Janesville on Saturday (April 24) for the UWW Spring Fling. It will be UWSP's final tune-up before the WIAC Championship.
