SUPERIOR, Wis. - Junior
Nicole Neuberger (Minnetrista, Minn./Orono) recorded her third-career two-goal night as the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (3-4-1, 3-4-1) rallied for a 3-1 victory at UW-Superior (3-4-0, 3-4-0) in the regular season finale on Friday.
The Pointers trailed at the end of the first period after the Yellowjackets scored with under five minutes remaining.
Freshman
Annika Horman (Appleton, Wis./North) scored just 40 seconds into the second period to tie the game. It was her second goal in as many games against UWS.
Mary Kremer (Sussex, Wis./Arrowhead Warhawks) assisted on the goal just like she did on Wednesday at home versus the Yellowjackets.
Neuberger tallied an unassisted goal at 14:53 of the second period to give UWSP the lead. She scored again at 2:41 of the third, a power-play goal from
Sara Aadalen (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata).
Olivia Schultz (Maplewood, Minn./Tartan) made 40 saves for the win for UWSP. UWS goaltender McKenzie Whalen had 21 saves.
UWSP will await the WIAC seeding decision over the weekend to determine the Pointers opponent, date and location in the WIAC Tournament.
