SUPERIOR, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team improved to 2-0 on the season with a dominant 9-0 victory over UW-Superior (2-3) on Saturday.
Barbara Covek (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) won at No. 1 singles by a 6-2, 6-0 score.
Jenna Koepp (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) won at No. 2 singles by a 6-0, 6-0 score. The duo teamed up for a win at No. 1 doubles winning 8-1.
Faith Leithold (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) won her No. 3 singles match, 6-2, 6-0. She teamed with sister
Chloe Leithold (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) to win at No. 2 doubles, 8-3.
Kaitlyn Hess (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. She also won at No. 3 doubles with
Grace Henes (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) by an 8-0 final.
Leah Hollander (Portage, Wis./Portage) won at No. 5 singles by a 6-2, 6-1 final.
Anna Dobbe (La Crosse, Wis./Onalaska Luther) closed out the sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.
The Pointers return to the courts on April 1 for the home opener against Marian. Start time is set for 3:30 p.m.
