STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (0-1-1, 0-1-1) gave up a pair of third-period goals in a 2-0 defeat on home ice to visiting UW-Eau Claire (1-0-1, 1-0-1).
Neither team scored in the first two periods with UWSP netminder
Olivia Schultz (Maplewood, Minn./Tartan) stopping 20 shots through 40 minutes of play.
Schultz made three more saves to open the third period before UWEC on the board 7:14 into the stanza. The Blugolds doubled the advantage at 10:43 of the third period.
Schultz made 27 saves in the game for the Pointers. UWEC goaltender Kylah Krause had 20 saves in the win.
The Pointers remain at home on Wednesday (Feb. 10) to face UW-River Falls. Puck drop at Ice Hawks Arena is slated for 7:00 p.m.
