STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team (2-4, 2-4) mustered just three first-quarter points and fell to visiting UW-Oshkosh (5-1, 5-1) by a 67-40 final.
Senior
Taylor Greenheck (Sauk Prairie, Wis./Sauk Prairie) led UWSP in scoring with nine points. Freshman
Sierra Raine (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer) added eight and led the Pointers with five rebounds. Ten different UWSP players scored points in the game.
Greenheck gave UWSP a 2-0 lead with a layup just over a minute in. The Titans then closed the quarter on a 22-1 run.
Bailee Collins (Milton, Wis./Milton) scored UWSP's first field goal of the second quarter, but the deficit ballooned to 24 before UWSP put up a 7-0 spurt.
Julia Hickey (Silver Lake, Wis./Wilmot Union) buried a three with 2:40 left in the half to close out the run.
Greenheck posted five points in a third quarter that saw the Titan harness a 32-point lead heading to the fourth.
Abbie Campion (Janesville, Wis./Milton) put up a personal 5-0 run for the Pointers and
Anna Schoenike (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) made two late free throws.
The Pointers travel to River Falls to face UWRF on Wednesday. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
