OSHKOSH, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team (2-3, 2-3) fell behind early and were unable to recover in a 75-45 loss at UW-Oshkosh (4-1, 4-1) on Wednesday.
Senior
Bailee Collins (Milton, Wis./Milton) recorded her second double-double of the season with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Fellow senior
Taylor Greenheck (Sauk Prairie, Wis./Sauk Prairie) led the Pointers with 11 points.
Kellan Schmidt (Edgerton, Wis./Edgerton) got the Pointers on the board nearly four minutes into the game.
Jessica Slowik (Elcho, Wis./Elcho) and Collins each made a field goal as UWSP trailed 17-7 after one.
Collins hit a three early in the second quarter, but a 12-0 run put the Titans comfortably in front. Greenheck scored six points down the stretch as UWSP was down 43-21 at the half.
Schmidt and Greenheck hit early buckets in the third as UWSP's defense held the Titans scoreless from the field for nearly five minutes.
Josie Nies (Platteville, Wis./Platteville) drilled a three, her only attempt from behind the arc.
Katelyn Slowik (Elcho, Wis./Elcho) and
Sierra Raine (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer) each scored three points in the fourth quarter for the Pointers.
UWSP host UW-Oshkosh on Friday (Feb. 19). Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m. on Bennett Court at Quandt Fieldhouse.
