RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (0-3-1, 0-3-1) was upended by UW-River Falls (4-0-0, 4-0-0) by a 7-1 final on Friday.
The Falcons scored three time in the first period and added another in the second for a 4-0 lead.
After UWRF made it 5-0,
Dani Heitsman (Janesville, Wis./Rock County Fury) got UWSP on the board. She netted her first of the season, the 14th of her career, at the 16:09 mark. The tally was unassisted.
The Falcons added two goals late to close out the scoring.
Olivia Schultz (Maplewood, Minn./Tartan) made 42 saves for the Pointers. UWRF goaltender Pistol Cowden earned the win with 20 saves.
The Pointers return to the ice on Feb. 24 for a 7:00 p.m. tilt against Northland.
