There's nothing quite like a crowd of Pointers sports fans packing the stands to cheer on their favorite team.

The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has voted that winter sports can resume play in February. That's great news for UWSP's student-athletes but not for us fans, who will be unable to attend games in person due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.
Never fear! There's still a way to attend home games of your favorite UWSP winter-sports teams—at least in spirit.
Announcing the Great Pointer Return, a weeklong, socially distanced pep rally and fundraiser in support of UWSP Athletics. The goal is to virtually fill campus athletics facilities to the rafters with Pointers family and friends, to collectively benefit all sports at the university.
Here's how it works: For every $10 you give to any sport or the 1 Point Fund, we'll send you an e-ticket that corresponds to one seat in a UWSP Athletics facility. Sold tickets represent seats that are "virtually occupied" in each of the following facilities:

And since this is a sports-related fundraiser, let's add a layer of competition to the mix. Donors can designate what team they would like to support for each ticket purchased, by making a gift to that team. The team that racks up the most designation points (gifts in $10 increments) at the end of the week wins a special trophy—and, of course, bragging rights.
Save those tickets, Pointers fans. Once the restrictions on in-person attendance has been lifted, you can redeem two or more ticket stubs for one free popcorn at a future Pointers home game. But not all the rewards are delayed. Buy four or more tickets and you'll receive a virtual high-five from none other than Stevie Pointer!
Tickets go on sale starting today, February 1 and the doors close at noon on Saturday, February 6. Get ready to virtually rock the house with Pointers spirit!
