STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Senior
Nicole Neuberger (Minnetrista, Minn./Orono) scored 29 seconds in, but the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (4-7-0) feel by a 6-2 final to visiting Augsburg (4-5-1).
Neuberger netted her third goal in as many games and the Pointers held the 1-0 lead into he first intermission.
The Auggies flipped the script in the second period. Just 1:12 in, AU tied the game at 1-1. The visitors posted a power-play tally at 8:28 to take the lead and Augsburg tacked on a third goal at 9:46 of the second.
In the third period, the Auggies put up a shorthanded goal and a power-play goal at 4:01 and 6:42 respectively for a 5-1 lead.
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) scored at 7:09 of the third for her second in as many games.
Ryan Ruoho (Madison, Wis./James Madison Memorial) picked up a point for the second-straight game with an assist on the play.
Augsburg added another power-play goal at 10:45 to complete the scoring.
Olivia Schultz (Maplewood, Minn./Tartan) made 36 saves in net for the Pointers. AU goaltender Chloe Stockinger had 29 saves.
The Pointers will next play on Dec. 31 at 7:00 p.m. at Lawrence in the first of a home-and-home against the Vikings.
