Women’s Hockey Nets Home Win on Backs of Five Different Scorers

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey Team (2-4-0) earned its first home victory with a 5-1 win over visiting St. Norbert (3-2-0).  The Pointers got goals from five different scorers in the victory.
 
Midway through the first period, Sara Aadalen (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) opened the scoring with an unassisted tally.
 
Just over three minutes later, Nicole Neuberger (Minnetrista, Minn./Orono) doubled the lead with an unassisted goal of her own.  Gina Magro (Tower Lakes, Ill./Barrington) pushed the lead to 3-0 just 45 seconds later with Haley Sellers (Kenosha, Wis./Milwaukee Jr. Admirals) adding an assist.
 
In the second period, Bella Moskonas (Greenfield, Wis.) extended the UWSP advantage to 4-0 with an unassisted power-play goal at 4:34.
 
The Green Knights finally solved UWSP netminder Olivia Schultz (Maplewood, Minn./Tartan) at 9:30 of the third period on the power play.
 
Maike Zipp (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) put UWSP's lead back to four with a goal at 15:47 of the third.  Lauren Wincentsen (Wausau, Wis./West) had a helper on the goal.
 
Schultz made 28 saves in the win for the Pointers.  SNC goaltender Brynn Waisman had 30 saves.
 
The Pointers remain at home on Friday (Nov. 12) to open league play against No.4 UW-River Falls.  Puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m.
