STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point women's hockey goaltender
Olivia Schultz (Maplewood, Minn./Tartan) had a career-high and program single game record tying 55 saves as the Pointers fell to No. 4 UW-River Falls (5-0-0, 1-0-0) by a 7-0 final.
Schultz recorded the third 55-save performance in UWSP history. She held UWSP in the game in the first period making 20 saves and allowing just two goals against.
The Falcons put four past Schultz in the second period as she managed to make 20 more saves. Schultz had 15 saves in the third period with just one goal against.
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn. /Maple Grove) and
Nicole Neuberger (Minnetrista, Minn./Orono) had three shots each to lead the Pointers.
UWRF goaltender Pistol Cowden made 17 saves in the shutout win.
The Pointers (2-5-0, 0-1-0) return to action on Saturday, Nov. 20 against UW-Superior. The 2:30 p.m. tilt will close out the five-game home stand for UWSP.
