Frierdich Nets Two Early Goals, Nieman Shuts Out UWW

WHITEWATER, Wis. – For the second time in as many trips to Whitewater, the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (5-9-0, 1-2-0) picked up a 2-0 win over UW-Whitewater (8-4-0, 2-1-0).

Kati Frierdich (Neenah, Wis./Winneconne) found the back of the net twice within the first 10 minutes of the match, UWSP's only two shots on goal in the match.

Her first goal came in the sixth minute off an assist from Jessica Camarato (DeForest, Wis./DeForest Area).  Then in the eighth minute, Frierdich doubles UWSP's lead on an assist from Hannah Kroupa (New Berlin, Wis./West).

UWSP goalkeeper Miranda Nieman (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) made the Frierdich brace hold up with seven saves for her second shutout of the season.

Following Frierdich's second goal, the Pointers were not credited with a shot the final 82 minutes of play while the Warhawks piled up 23 shots to no avail.
