EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Freshman
Madison Culli (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) scored her first collegiate goal as the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (7-9-0, 3-2-0) picked up a 1-0 win at UW-Eau Claire (6-8-2, 1-4-0) in league play on Wednesday.
Culli served in a corner kick in the 68th minute and the curling ball snuck in the near post for the only goal of the match.
Culli's shot was just one of four given to the Pointers in the match.
Kati Frierdich (Neenah, Wis./Winneconne) had two with
Bridget Kauzlaric (Coal City, Ill./Coal City) picking up the other. All four were on frame.
Miranda Nieman (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) made seven saves for her third-consecutive clean sheet in conference play. UWEC goalkeeper Anna Sveiven had three saves.
UWSP returns home for the final two regular season matches beginning on Saturday (Oct. 23) against UW-Platteville. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
