RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team (16-3, 3-3) wrapped up the regular season with a 7-2 road win at UW-River Falls (1-10, 1-5) on Saturday. UWSP nets its program record 16th win and finishes a pristine 8-0 on the road.
Faith Leithold (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. She paired with
Kaitlyn Hess (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) to shut out their No. 2 doubles foes, 8-0. Hess picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles.
Barbara Covek (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) and
Jenna Koepp (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) posted an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles. Covek took care of business at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win. Koepp garnered a win at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
Kaylee Woelfel (Plymouth,Wis/Plymouth) capped the scoring with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles.
The Pointers now head to Madison for the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's). Action starts on Saturday (Oct. 23) at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
