RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-Stevens-Point women's golf team carded a score of 371 Friday and is in fifth after the first day of the Falcon Invitational at Clifton Highlands Golf Course. The Pointers are one shot out of fourth place.

Top UWSP Individual: Bree Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) leads the team with an opening round of 83, good for 3rd in the 42-player field. She is one stroke behind second place.
Notables: Andrea Tietz (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) is tied for 10th after shooting 88 in round one. Her round was four strokes better than her round one score from the Whitewater Invite.

Tournament Highlights
Top Team: With multiple individuals placing within the top 20, UW-Eau Claire holds first place as it tops host team UW-River Falls by a commanding 27-shot lead.
Top Individual: Lexi Meade of UWEC holds first as she shot a 77 in round one.
