ASHLAND, Wis. – Senior
Alex Grubbs (Minong, Wis./Spooner) scored her first power-play goal of the year as the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (7-9-5, 1-6-2) skated to a 1-1 tie at Northland (6-13-1, 0-6-1).
The Lumberjills took the lead at the 12:20 mark of the first period.
Early in the second period, the Pointers got their third chance on the man-advantage. Grubbs scored 14 seconds into the power play to tie the game at 1-1.
Cassie Knutson (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) and
Ashtyn Wiltscheck (Sleepy Eye, Minn./New Ulm) picked up assists on the play.
Neither team was able to break the tie in the third or overtime.
UWSP senior goaltender
Marit Larson (Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul) had 28 saves on the night. NC goaltender Gabby Suhr made 35 saves.
