GREENSBORO, N.C. – UW-Stevens Point baseball sophomore
Aaron Simmons (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) added yet another award to his treasure trove with an ABCA/Rawlings All-Midwest Region first team honor, the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced on Tuesday (May 28).
ABCA/Rawlings Release
Simmons adds the honor after a D3Baseball All-Midwest Region nod and All-WIAC first team selection already this month. He started all 38 games with a team-best 43 runs scored, 42 RBI, 15 doubles, eight triples, five home runs, 11 stolen bases and .634 slugging percentage.
He hit .354 on the season, second on the team. Simmons hit safely in 33 of 38 games and had a hitting streak of at least 11 games twice in 2019. Three times during the season he drove in four runs and he had seven three-hit performances.
With his eight triples this year, Simmons set the single-season program record and was just one away from tying the conference single season mark.
