Men 10th, Women 20th, Pointers Snag Five All-Americans on Day Two at NCAAs

BOSTON, Mass. - The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams collected five more All-American accolades, four individuals and one relay, at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday.  After the two-day completion, the men's team finished in 10th with score 16 points. Meanwhile, the women's collected 10 points for a 20th-place finish.
 
Results
 
Calden Wojt (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) claimed his first of two All-American accolades in the 200-meter dash.  He earned the runner-up position with a time of 21.70, a margin of 0.004 ahead of the third-place finisher.   He also ran the third leg of the 4x400-meter relay with Sam Welch (Manawa, Wis./Manawa), Matt Cieslak (Wilmot, Wis./Wilmot) and Evan Torgerson (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) to help claim a seventh-place finish with a time of 3:19.78. 
 
Sylviann Momont (Auburndale, Wis./Auburndale) earned her second All-American nod of the weekend in the high jump.  She finished in a three-way tie for third with a height of 1.68 meters (5' 6.00"). 
 
Jeremy Lee (Viroqua, Wis./Viroqua) collected an All-American accolade in the heptathlon with an eighth-place finish with a score of 4,943.  He came in second in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:45.02. He also finished in a three-way tie for second in the pole vault with a height of 4.45 meters (14' 7.25"). 
 
Tom Kohn (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka) notched his first career All-American honor in the triple jump.  He finished eighth with a leap of 14.53 meters (47' 8.00"). 
 
Karen Wethal (Evansville, Wis./Evansville) threw a distance of 13.20 meters (43' 3.75") in the shot put, good for a 12th-place finish. 
 
The Pointers take a break from competition to prepare for the outdoor season.  The outdoor season starts Saturday, March 30, at 10:00 a.m. at the Carroll Invite in Waukesha, Wis.
