WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team (4-6) came up short in a 63-38 loss to No. 17 St. Thomas (7-2) at Justagame Fieldhouse on Sunday.
The Pointers kept the game close in the first quarter trailing by just five after 10 minutes of play, 19-14.
The second quarter saw the Tommies pull away, out-scoring UWSP 24-5 to open a 43-19 halftime lead.
The second half was much closer as the Pointers held UST to just 10 points in both the third and fourth quarters while scoring 19 points themselves.
UWSP will close out non-conference play on Monday (Dec. 30) against Saint Mary's. Tip-off at Justagame is slated for 3:00 p.m.
